Due to a drop in pressure, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the Upper Jasper County Water Authority, PWS ID 1210060 (North System Specific), to notify customers on County Road 032 (near Hwy 255) to the Neches River Ridge to boil their water prior to consumption.  (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc.)  The Specific areas affected are as follows:  From Angelina River Bridge to Intersection of CR 032 & FSR 333, Trout Creek Community (CR 069A, CR 070, CR 071, CR 072), Hwy 255, CR 018, CR 019, CR 020, CR 021, CR 022, CR 023, CR 024, CR 026, CR 029, CR 030, CR 031, CR 032, CR 034, CR 036, CR 037, CR 039, CR 041, CR 042, CR 043, CR 044, CR 046, CR 047, PR 6146, PR 6147, Sam Rayburn Parkway, CR 051, CR 060, CR 061, CR 062, CR 063, CR 064, CR 065, CR 066, CR 067, CR 068, O’Neal Hill, McGilbery Hill, PR 6065, Harvey Town/Letney Addition, Concord Hills, Concord Heights, and Concord Ridge.  Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions.   (This notice does not apply to customers who live South of Jasper, nor customers on the North System who never lost water pressure.)

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.

In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the public water system officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the public water system will issue a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice.

Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.
